Purpose
Clinical management of acute and chronic wounds is a constantly evolving art/science. Developments in biology and technology are not comprehensively disseminated through basic medical education programs.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this three day conference, the participant should be able to:
๏ Utilize physical and biological markers to differentiate wounds that wound benefit from biomaterial wound treatment options.
๏ Apply information in order to appropriately diagnose key etiological factors and perform appropriate treatment interventions.
๏ Recognize and distinguish applicable treatment standards to utilize in deciding a management protocol for specific patients.
๏ Apply outlined principles to determine factors that retard progression of wound(s) through normal healing phases.
๏ Discuss biological foundations that influence wound diagnosis and treatment choices.
๏ Hypothesize various clinical scenarios in which emerging wound treatment modalities would be appropriately applied.
Target Audience
Physicians, Podiatrists, Surgeons, and related wound care providers.
Poster Session & Reception
Poster abstracts are currently being accepted for the 12th Annual Wound Healing conference and must be submitted by Friday, November 11, 2011. All posters will be displayed for the entire 3-day program and presentations will take place on Friday, December 9th from 6:30pm-7:30pm during the Poster Reception. Authors will be notified of acceptance on or before Monday, November 14, 2011.
